Ahead of its upcoming release date reveal, publisher 11 bit studios released today a brand-new showcase trailer for <\/span>Death Howl<\/i><\/b><\/a>, the stunning soulslike deck-builder from Copenhagen-based developer, The Outer Zone. The trailer dives deeper into the grim, sorrowful journey of Ro\u2014a grieving mother braving the realm of spirits, in a desperate attempt to defy death itself. Check it out below for a closer look at the game\u2019s rich gameplay and multilayered mechanics. <\/span>Death Howl<\/i><\/b> is currently in development for Windows PC and will be available in both the Steam and GOG storefronts later this year. A release date announcement is scheduled for the coming weeks.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In the newly released showcase trailer, Ro takes on a side quest to aid a suffering fish spirit. Along the way, players get a closer look at the game\u2019s soulslike structure, grid-based combat mechanics, environmental tactics, card crafting, skill upgrades, and the significance of spirit cards and totems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Developed by a three-person indie team based in Copenhagen, <\/span>Death Howl<\/i><\/b> blends distinct genres, multilayered mechanics, a distinctive visual style, and a deeply involved narrative. At its heart lies the story of Ro\u2014a grieving mother who dares to confront mighty spirits in a desperate attempt to bring her son back to life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Death Howl<\/i><\/b> will invite players into its hauntingly beautiful world later this year on Windows PC. Game development<\/b> was supported by the Danish Film Institute\u2019s program The Games Scheme.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
